Halloween Story VoiceThreads

October 29, 2010

A couple of weeks ago, my students wrote a Halloween Pattern Story that Mr. McDonald’s class in Manitoba illustrated. They then wrote a story that we illustrated. Today, we connected with Mr. McDonald’s class via Skype and read the stories together. Below are the VoiceThread stories. I hope that you enjoy them as much as the students did!

  1. What a wonderful Halloween project. Thanks for sharing it! Beautiful drawings and great stories.
Happy Halloween to you and your 1st and 2nd graders Aviva. They are so lucky to have you!

  2. Thanks Greta! Glad you liked the project. I was really pleased with how well it worked. The students loved collaborating with Mr. McDonald's class!

  3. Hi – looks like a wonderful project. I like the use of voice thread for that (first time I've seen it – must check it out), although for some reason I can't hear the audio. Perhaps something I could do with my kindergarteners.

  4. Thanks for the comment, @Jon-e! For this VoiceThread Project, we typed in the comment instead of adding audio. You could do this with audio instead though. I think it would be a great Kindergarten activity!

  5. Fabulous Aviva,

My gmail name doesn't match my twitter name – I'm actually @Mr_Fines. So many accounts…so many different user names. If I had the foresight I would have made them all the same. Hindsight is 20/20. When we do it, I'll post a link. Thanks for your inspiration!

  6. Thank you for sharing your Twitter name too! I'll definitely keep a look out for the link. If you think about it, please mention me in the tweet (adding @grade1 to the end of it), and then I'll make sure to see your post and have a peak and what you do. Hope your students enjoy it as much as mine did!
